Trompe L’oeil

Each of these animals is beautiful to behold. Their deaths were from accidents, whether they were hit by a car on side of the road, had flown too hard into a window, or if I was too late to save some of their lives, but could at least save them from being eaten by a cat. I didn’t hurt any of these animals, but happened upon them and wanted to honor and share some aspect of their beauty. This inspired me to follow the tradition of master artists who painted from nature to “fool the eye” (“trompe l’oeil”).
